TEST of Adult Basic Education: (TABE)
So that we may keep accurate records of your progress within our Resource Center, we ask that you take the TABE Full Battery Test. This test will be taken upon your enrollment into the center and also following your completion of the prescribed individual levels of the basic strands in reading, math, and language. By taking this test, we may place you at the subject level to benefit you the most and allow us to continue to monitor your progress.
Basics Systems
While in our Resource Center you are permitted to work individually at your own pace. However, there will always be an instructor available for assistance. Therefore, we would like to familiarize you with the Resource Center procedures and locations of materials.
*Lesson Plans: Once you have been placed in a specific level, you will be given a lesson plan from which to work. This is divided into individual lessons that will allow you to progress at your own speed. In order for us to keep accurate records, we ask that you record the time you spend on each portion of the lesson. This should be tracked on your Progress Form.
*Materials: Within our Resource Center we have maintained several different types of learning materials. Text books, workbooks, computer software, and video tapes are available for your use. Internet access is also available for research projects and skill enhancements. Job Seekers will find the Employability Skills program especially helpful.
*Portfolios: Each student will have a personal Portfolio. Intake forms, test scores, certificates, goal setting sheets, documentation logs, writing samples, and other various items will be found within this personal file. Your portfolio is your history while you attend the Resource Center and will be secured at all times. Staff members will ask your assistance in performing occasional reviews and additional goal setting.
*Student folders: Since your personal portfolio is secured, you will also be given a file for your current lesson plan. You may keep anything in this file that you want! Student folders are found in a designated file cabinet in the Resource Center. We ask that each student accesses their individual file only.
The Resource Center also offers access to the Developmentally Disabled. We offer C.C.T.V. for the visually impaired; Large screen for the visually impaired, and an adjustable table for wheelchair access.

Computers: The Resource Center has 10 computers available for public use.
