| Children Services | |
The Children Services Division of Job and Family Services investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect. Within this division there are two units, Intake and Ongoing. Our goal is to bridge the gap between parents and their children. |
| Intake Unit | Ongoing Unit |
The Intake Unit is responsible for investigating the allegations, which includes making face-to-face contact with the alleged child victim(s), the caretaker(s), the perpetrator, and with any other children residing in the home. Within 30 days of the initial report, a risk assessment is completed. At this point, a determination is made whether to close the case or transfer it to the Ongoing Unit for further monitoring. |
The Ongoing Unit develops a case plan which identifies areas of concern as well as the strengths of the family. The case plan is developed with the family and it is in effect for a six-month period of time. The case plan is reviewed with the family to determine if the problems have been resolved and the risk to the child has been reduced. |
These two services are voluntary services that are provided by the Coshocton County Job and Family Services. Participation with the services is designed to alleviate potential risk for child abuse and neglect, and to prevent the need for more intensive intervention or services. |
