August is Child Support Awareness Month

1 in 3 children are affected by the child support program. Ohio has the 5th largest caseload with 900,000 cases statewide. Coshocton County has a caseload size of 3500 and collects nearly 6 million annually in child support for families and children.

It is the responsibility of "both" parents to financially support their children.
Reminding parents that "Support is Key" to a child's well being, success and development.  Are you taking an active role in your child's well being?

"How's that Made" Manufacturing Camp

Lynn Jacobs, Workforce Administrator at Job and Family Services facilitated the "How's that Made" Manufacturing Camp for 7th and 8th grade youth in our community. Senator Sherrod Brown's office, with the help from the City of Coshocton, Port Authority, and OhioMeansJobs - Coshocton County collaborated on the project. The 13 youth spent five days learning how to work in teams and how to manage team building for the benefit of the group. They were given tools to assist them in the process such as brainstorming, force field analysis, nominal group techniques and many others. The youth also visited many of the manufacturing facilities through Coshocton, including AEP, MFM, Jones Metal, Kraft Foods, Pearl Valley Cheese, Roc Tenn, and Annin Flagmakers. Each youth was given a certificate from Sherrod Brown's office for their participation in the camp.
