Kids America is searching for a Director of Sports!

The Sport Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sports programs within an organization,
ensuring their efficient operation and success. They provide strategic leadership, manage resources,
coordinate schedules, and foster a positive environment for athletes, coaches, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
● Develop long-term and short-term strategies to achieve the organization’s sport-related goals.
● Identify opportunities for program growth, expansion, and improvement.

2. Program Management:
● Oversee the planning, implementation, scheduling, and evaluation of sports programs. Some
have directors, others will be led by the Director of Sports.
● Coordinate with coaches and staff to ensure programs align with organizational objectives.
● Monitor program budgets and allocate resources effectively.
● Assign officials for Kids America games/tournaments.

3. Athlete Development:
● Develop and implement athlete development plans to maximize individual and team
performance.
● Provide guidance and support to coaches in player development strategies.
● Foster a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among athletes.

4. Coach Recruitment and Development:
● Recruit, train, and supervise coaches to ensure high-quality instruction and mentorship.
● Run coaches meetings before each season, sharing our expectations of them and what they
can expect from us.
● Provide ongoing development opportunities for coaches to enhance their skills and
knowledge.

5. Facility Management:
● Oversee the maintenance and operation of sports facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional,
and accessible.
● Coordinate facility scheduling and usage to optimize resource utilization.
● Requires field maintenance, whether done by self or coordinating volunteers, and preparing
fields and courts.

6. Compliance and Safety:
● Ensure all sports programs comply with relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards.
● Implement risk management procedures to minimize injuries and liabilities.

7. Community Engagement:
● Build positive relationships with stakeholders, including athletes, parents, volunteers, and
community partners.
● Must run a parents meeting and coaches meetings before each season.
● Promote sports programs through marketing, outreach, and recruitment efforts.
● Have communication between local schools to reach as many people in our community as
possible.

8. Event Planning:
● Organize and execute sports events, competitions, and tournaments.
● Coordinate logistics, staffing, and participant communications for successful events.

9. Data Analysis and Reporting:
● Collect and analyze data related to sports programs, including participation rates, performance
metrics, and feedback.
● Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate program outcomes and areas for
improvement.

10. Any duties the Executive Director deems necessary, which may include:
● Front Desk duties
● Janitor duties
● Volunteering at different fundraising events

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field preferred.
● Proven experience in sports administration, program management, or coaching.
● Strong leadership and communication skills.
● Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
● Knowledge of sports industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate sports events and
activities.
